WYLDE and BelfastMet Collaborate to Empower Girls in Esports
Esports organization WYLDE has recently partnered with BelfastMet college to launch an exciting new project aimed at girls between the ages of 15 and 18. This initiative, called Girls in Esports, aims to provide young girls with a pathway into the esports industry and connect them with professionals, players, coaches, creators, and other industry insiders.
Free Summer Camps and Workshops
As part of the Girls in Esports initiative, WYLDE and BelfastMet will organize a series of free summer camps in Cork and Belfast. These camps will offer participants the opportunity to learn about the esports industry, engage in educational and performance workshops, and even take part in real esports competitions.
The camps and workshops will be hosted at the WYLDE Academy in Cork and the E3 Campus of the BelfastMet College in Belfast. Girls attending these events will not only gain valuable knowledge and skills but also have the chance to network with industry professionals and discover the diverse career opportunities available in esports.
Commitment to Inclusion and Diversity
Steve Daly, CEO of WYLDE, expressed the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion through this initiative. He stated, “The girls in esports initiative is very much at the heart of our ambition to encourage more female esports athletes in the sector. The summer camps provide an incredible opportunity for girls to learn, play, and engage in the world of esports, and we hope to attract girls from all over Ireland.”
WYLDE, an Irish esports organization, gained prominence when it welcomed Usain Bolt, one of the world’s most famous runners, as its co-owner. Since then, WYLDE has collaborated with renowned sportswear brand PUMA and now partners with BelfastMet to empower girls in the esports industry.
