In Thief Simulator, finesse plays a crucial role in pulling off successful heists. With the constant threat of police intervention and vigilant security guards, players must always be on alert. The game’s unforgiving checkpoint system can be frustrating, sending players back to the “load game” screen after getting caught. However, in the midst of these challenges, there is one heist that stands out – stealing the Kubra GTS, a highly valuable car that can be sold for $1500 and comes with two rare achievements.
While stealing cars may be a familiar task for players in Thief Simulator, the Kubra GTS presents a whole new level of difficulty. Gone are the days of easily finding vehicles on the main road by opening a garage, as the security measures in the wealthy neighborhood of Richie Rich Street make the previously encountered Greenview Street security look laughable. Successfully completing this heist will require careful planning and execution.
Where Can You Find the Kubra GTS?
The Kubra GTS can be found locked within the garage on the left side of house 207. Stealing it will prove to be a challenging task, as the house is guarded by two security guards and equipped with numerous security cameras both inside and outside. Maneuvering through the residence undetected will require careful planning and precision.
Preparation is crucial for this heist, as the plan outlined below can be executed quickly once players gain access to the house. Similar to the Vulcan Spectre heist, players will need to enter the house while the main resident is present and ensure that the car gate and garage door are open before attempting to leave. It is also necessary for players to have purchased the van, which becomes available at level 19 for $35,000 from the pawn shop.
How to Steal the Kubra GTS Without Getting Detected
The owner of 207 Richie Rich Street takes security very seriously. The house is constantly patrolled by two 24-hour security guards, and the owner herself moves around unpredictably. Before entering the house, players should carefully mark the positions of the security guards and cameras to plan their movements accordingly. The heist can only be successfully completed with the following tools and skills:
- Car key signal cloner (Car theft level 3)
- Climbing gloves (Agility level 4)
- Hacking PDA (Electronics level 2)
To avoid getting caught while inside the car, players must break into the house while the main resident is still inside. The best time to do this is 6 a.m., when one security guard is behind the house and the other roams aimlessly in the downstairs hall. It is important to note that if the player is detected while inside the car, they may still be stunned and sent back to a checkpoint. Once inside the house, players should remain focused on their objective and aim to leave as quickly as possible. Following the steps below will allow players to escape with the Kubra GTS without being detected:
- Park the van at the back of the house, with its back against the hedge.
- Be careful not to block the path, as this will alert the police.
- Climb on top of the van and walk along the hedges until reaching the balcony.
- Climb up the gutter to access the balcony and enter the house.
- Use the car key signal cloner on the owner through the wall.
- If the owner is too far away, open the window onto the other balcony and reach her there.
- Move across the upstairs to find and disable the camera panel.
- Sneak past the guard downstairs into the garage on the right side, closing the door quietly.
- Use the garage door switch and car gate switch on the right to remove both obstacles.
- Drive out of the area to unlock the trophy/achievement.
Upon leaving the area, assuming this is the player’s fifth unique car heist, they will also unlock the “Crazy about Cars” trophy/achievement. As with other cars in the game, players can dismantle individual pieces of the Kubra GTS and sell them at the junkyard or online for a significant profit. The money earned can be used to customize their van with new paint jobs at the junkyard.
Thief Simulator is available on various platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
