In 2018, Chillicothe residents Colin Rose and his wife, Sara, discovered their love for escape rooms at the Columbus Origins Game Fair. However, they also saw an opportunity to elevate the experience by seamlessly marrying Virtual Reality into the mix.
“We’ve always loved escape rooms, we were intrigued, so we started looking for places to do them,” said Rose, the owner of Objective Reality Games.
The Experience
Their passion led them to found Objective Reality Games, focused on combining the excitement of escape rooms with Virtual Reality to give gamers an immersive experience. Objective Reality Games transports their players into new dimensions with their interactive, playful, and adventurous VR immersive gameplay where players solve puzzles, find keys, and unlock hidden treasures.
“You’re solving codes and finding keys, unlocking locks and that’s the gist of most regular escape rooms. What makes this different is that it’s a little bit more interactive, it has a little bit more of a playful feel, so you’re lighting things up, you’re shooting bows and arrows and things that you just can’t do in real life,” explained Rose.
A regular player at Objective Reality Games, 10-year-old William Bryans, shared what he loves most about the experience, “It’s different because you get to play in a different universe, and you’re actually experiencing it on a headset that’s in first person.”
While VR escape room activities are recommended for ages 12 and up, Objective Reality Games offers an entertaining and fulfilling experience for all ages, regardless of prior gaming experience.
The Cloud Game Streaming Platform
To add convenience and accessibility, Objective Reality Games has developed AbstractVR, a revolutionary game streaming cloud platform. This app enables players to experience the ultimate gaming experience at home without a high-end headset, a PC, or a gaming console.
“It allows you to stream all of this content at home. As long as you have an internet connection of 50 megabytes or more, you can download our app and then get this level of experience through this headset through our cloud computing network,” asserted Rose.
