The Top-Selling Boxed Video Games in the UK for the Week Ending October 28, 2023
In this week’s rankings, there has been a switch in the top two games. Super Mario Bros. Wonder has beaten Spider-Man 2 in week 2 sales by having a smaller drop in sales, with only a 55% decrease compared to Spider-Man 2’s 69% decrease. However, both games are still among the top five largest launches of the year, with Spider-Man 2 at No. 4 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder at No. 5.
Retaining its position at third place is EA Sports FC 24, while Assassins’ Creed: Mirage has dropped to No. 5 after experiencing a 25% decrease in sales. The new release, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, has made a strong debut and is now in 4th place.
Another new release, EA Sports UFC 5, has entered the charts at 7th place. On the other hand, Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures and Just Dance 2024, the two other new releases of the week, did not make it to the top 10.
Among the perennial sellers that are still in the top ten are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, remaining at number 6, and Hogwarts Legacy, still holding on to number 8. Nintendo Switch Sports and Minecraft for the Nintendo Switch have swapped places from last week, with Nintendo Switch Sports now at No. 9 and Minecraft at No. 10.
Two titles have fallen out of the top ten from last week. Sonics Superstars has experienced a significant drop in sales, going from number 4 to 15 with a 72% decrease. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, despite a 9% increase in sales, fell to the 17th place.
The sales promotions that are starting to ramp up as the Holidays approach have led to a massive 309% increase in sales for Dead Island 2. Other titles that have benefited from discounts and re-entered the charts include Sonic Origins Plus, Red Dead Redemption 2, Gotham Knights, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.
There is only one more week of sales to report before Microsoft’s latest Call of Duty release drops on November 10, and it is already projected to take the top spot.
