Hilarious Trash Can Fan Art from Honkai: Star Rail Player Goes Viral
A player of the game Honkai: Star Rail recently drew a funny fan art that pays tribute to the protagonist’s interactions with trash cans. HoYoverse’s newest game features an open-world RPG where players can interact with various NPCs and examine inanimate objects to learn more about the Star Rail universe.
Since its release in late April, Honkai: Star Rail has amassed a large following, as many players enjoy grinding through missions, completing side quests, and exploring the vast worlds to uncover countless secrets. One such activity involves interacting with a number of trash cans in the game’s Belobog area, which has given birth to many memes poking fun at the protagonist’s interactions with the object. By triggering enough trash cans, players receive a Trash Can profile icon and a consumable item called Pleasant-Looking Trash, which restores four Technique Points for the team.
Many Honkai: Star Rail fans have created equally hilarious fan art based on the Belobog trash cans. One Twitter user, CesarZebrah, created an image showing Honkai: Star Rail’s March 7th lying in bed next to Stelle, the game’s default female protagonist, who is hugging a trash can in her sleep. The fan art and caption, “Me my girlfriend… and her (sic) trash can,” are references to the original viral meme where a woman was seen cuddling a $500 four-foot tall Mareep plushie.
Other players found CesarZebrah’s art to be funny, sympathizing with March, who they said was third-wheeling with Stelle and the trash can. Some interpreted March’s worried expression as her trying to sleep but being unable to do so because of the trash can in her bed. Meanwhile, another user declared that “StAsh” (Stelle and Trash) was their favorite Star Rail ship of all time.
Aside from the trash cans, Honkai: Star Rail offers various entertaining interactions with its main characters and NPCs, showcasing their unique personalities and humor. These interactions give players the incentive to not skip dialogues and examine as many items as possible to earn fun freebies and achievements in Star Rail.
Although Honkai: Star Rail has only been out for over a week, HoYoverse is already preparing for its next update to be released in June. There are already leaks of possible character models and events, which some fans are taking with a grain of salt to avoid disappointment in case they do not make it into version 1.1. Nonetheless, Star Rail players are still excited about what’s coming next.
Honkai: Star Rail is available now for mobile and PC, with PS4 and PS5 versions in development.
