Sage Labs: Transaction Volume Soars
Sage Labs, a browser-based 2D space economic sim developed by ATMTA’s Star Atlas team, has experienced a significant surge in transaction volume since its launch at the end of September.
Breaking it down, the data reveals that overall transactions have more than doubled in less than a week, skyrocketing from 1 million on October 4th to over 2 million as of October 10th. Impressively, the game has surpassed 16 million transactions in total and now accounts for 15% of all transactions on the Solana network, marking a substantial increase from the previous week’s 3%.
Onchain Fidelity and Growth Potential
Sage Labs is a crucial component of the expansive ecosystem of the space massively multiplayer online game (MMO) Star Atlas. Unlike many other blockchain games, Sage Labs operates fully onchain, contributing to its higher transaction volume. Other blockchain games typically only have certain aspects of the gameplay deployed onchain.
Despite its recent launch, Sage Labs has already seen impressive player engagement. The game attracted 6,000 player profiles within its first week, and that number has now risen to nearly 9,000. Additionally, Sage Labs boasts over 1,500 daily active users, excluding bot activity.
ATMTA’s Vision for Star Atlas
Despite experiencing economic challenges and undergoing company restructuring earlier this year, ATMTA CEO Michael Wagner remains committed to his ambitious vision for Star Atlas. In a recent interview, Wagner emphasized that, if anything, the team has expanded the possibilities and scope of the game as they explore the potential of various technologies and continue to deliver new features and products.

ATMTA recently unlocked access to its open-platform developer tools, providing creators within and beyond the Solana network the opportunity to utilize these tools. Star Atlas aims to foster a wider community of developers and enable greater composability of assets, thereby enhancing the overall utility of its ecosystem.
