Skull and Bones Release Date and Closed Beta Announced by Ubisoft
Ubisoft has revealed that Skull and Bones is set to launch on February 16 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC via Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store, Stadia, and Luna. Furthermore, a second closed beta test is scheduled from December 15 to 18, and gamers can register on the game’s website. The announcement was accompanied by trailers showcasing the game’s presentation at The Game Awards, as well as a detailed gameplay preview.
The Game’s Features
The game promises players a starting point with just a small sailboat and a few resources. As they progress, they will unlock blueprints that allow them to build larger and more powerful ships, as well as acquire upgrades, weapons, and tools crucial for their reputation in the pirate world. The growth of their fleet and access to resources relies on the completion of contracts from various sources, which allows them to expand further. Additionally, players can utilize captain’s tools like the spyglass to scout new opportunities at sea, such as lucrative trade routes and vulnerable enemy ships, to strategize and plan their attacks.
With naval combat at the heart of Skull and Bones, players have the freedom to tailor their approach to suit their preferred playstyle. The game features 12 distinct ship options, each with unique attributes for speed, capacity, and durability. Furthermore, each ship offers distinct advantages that enable players to personalize their experience even further. Ships can be fitted with armor and an array of lethal weapons, including cannons, mortars, ballistae, torpedoes, and more.
Skull and Bones can be played solo, or in co-op with up to two companions. The game is also set to introduce new seasons post-launch, each bringing a fresh batch of contracts, content, and challenges to keep players engaged and entertained.
