Shiftall’s MeganeX PC VR Headset Slowly Ramping Up Production After Soft Launch in Japan
Introducing Shiftall’s MeganeX
In early 2023, Panasonic subsidiary Shiftall announced the upcoming launch of MeganeX, a slim and light PC VR headset. Featuring ultra-high resolution, ultra-lightweight design, and 6DOF capability, MeganeX is equipped with dual 2,560 × 2,560 1.3-inch micro-OLED displays and proprietary pancake lens from Panasonic, making it a strong competitor in the PC VR headset market.
Recent Soft Launch in Japan and Plans for the U.S.
Following a recent soft launch in Japan, Shiftall is now working to increase production capacity before releasing MeganeX in the US, although a specific release date has not yet been determined.
Pricing and Other VR Products from Shiftall
The consumer version is set to launch at $1,699, with the price for the Business Edition yet to be determined for the US market. In addition to MeganeX, Shiftall also produces other innovative VR products, including the FlipVR SteamVR controller, the HaritoraX Wireless full-body tracking device, and mutalk, a Bluetooth microphone designed for private conversations in and out of VR.
Shiftall’s Future Plans for the U.S. Market
Shiftall has expressed plans to introduce MeganeX in the US market as soon as sufficient quantities can be manufactured to meet high demand in Japan. The company is also expecting to release its other VR products, including FlipVR and HaritoraX, in the US in the near future.
