The Pokemon TCG: Paldea Evolved Hyper Rare Cards
Introduction
The release of the Scarlet & Violet series in the Pokemon Trading Card Game world brings along new Hyper Rare cards for fans to collect. Paldea Evolved, the first additional set in the series, offers plenty of Hyper Rare cards for collectors to find. This set focuses on the newest Pokemon from the Scarlet & Violet video games and also brings back the EX cards in the TCG.
Meowscarada ex 271/193
Meowscarada ex is the final evolution of the Grass-type starter Pokemon, Sprigatito, from Pokemon: Scarlet & Violet. In the Paldea Evolved set, it is one of the strongest Pokemon cards available. With 310 HP, Meowscarada ex showcases the increasing strength of Pokemon cards with each generation. What makes this card stand out is its ability to place 3 Damage Counters on an opponent’s benched Pokemon by discarding one Grass Energy. This allows players to attack a benched Pokemon and deal up to 220 damage with Meowscarada’s Scratching Nails attack on the opposing active Pokemon.
Skeledirge ex 272/193
The Scarpet & Violet’s beloved Fire-type starter, Fuecoco, evolves into Skeledirge at level 36. Skeledirge ex is one of the best cards in the set and features 340 HP. As a Fire-type card, it fits perfectly in fire-themed decks. Though it lacks an ability like Meowscarada ex, Skeledirge ex can heal 30 HP from each of the player’s benched Pokemon with its Vitality Song move. It also has access to Burning Voice, a powerful attack that deals 270 damage, subtracting 10 damage for each damage counter on Skeledirge.
Quaquaval ex 273/193
Quaquaval is the final evolution of Quaxly, the Water-type starter in Pokemon: Scarlet & Violet. This Quaquaval ex Hyper Rare card focuses on pure power and disruption. With 320 HP, Quaquaval ex features two attacks. Exciting Dance costs one Water Energy and deals 60 damage, allowing players to switch Quaquaval ex with one of their benched Pokemon. This also forces the opponent to switch out their active Pokemon. Spiral Shot, costing two Energy (one Water Energy, one Energy), deals a flat 230 damage but requires the player to put two Energy attached to Quaquaval ex back into their hand.
Chien-Pao ex 274/193
Chien-Pao is an Ice-type legendary Pokemon from Pokemon: Scarlet & Violet. As a basic Pokemon ex card, Chien-Pao ex has 220 HP. Its ability, Shivery Chill, allows players to search their deck for two basic Water Energy cards and put them in their hand when Chien-Pao ex is the active Pokemon. Chien-Pao’s attack, Hail Blade, costs two Water Energy and deals 60 damage multiplied by the number of Water Energy discarded from the player’s Pokemon.
Ting-Lu ex 275/193
Ting-Lu is another legendary Pokemon that players can find in Pokemon: Scarlet & Violet. Ting-Lu ex is a Fighting-type card with 240 HP. This card’s ability, called Cursed Land, nullifies the abilities of opposing Pokemon in play that have any damage counters, as long as Ting-Lu ex is in the active spot. Its attack, Land Scoop, costs 3 Fighting Energy and deals 150 damage while placing two damage counters on one of the opposing benched Pokemon.
Super Rod 276/193
Super Rod is a Trainer card that holds a useful ability for strategic play. This Hyper Rare card allows players to shuffle up to three Pokemon and/or Basic Energy into their deck. It is a great addition to any deck, especially for players who have lost a valuable Pokemon or need extra Energy during battles.
Superior Energy Retrieval 277/193
Superior Energy Retrieval is an Item card that helps players gain Basic Energy cards. By discarding two other cards from their hand, players can put up to 4 Basic Energy cards from their discard pile into their hand. This card is a valuable strategy when paired with Pokemon that discard Energy for moves, making it popular in Pokemon TCG’s meta.
Basic Grass Energy 278/193
In the Paldea Evolved set, even Energy cards are given the Hyper Rare treatment. The Basic Grass Energy Hyper Card (278/193) stands out with its golden illustration and a hyper rare golden border. It adds a mystical touch to any collection.
Basic Water Energy 279/193
Similar to the Hyper Rare Grass Energy, the Basic Water Energy Hyper Rare card (279/193) features the water symbol surrounded by radiant sparkles and a golden border. It is a fantastic inclusion in Water-themed decks due to its magnificent appearance.
