Introducing Axe Throwing to Arcade Legends 2.0 Update: A Realistic VR Experience on Meta Quest
ArcadeXR has just released its highly anticipated 2.0 update for Arcade Legends, and it’s introducing a thrilling new activity to the game: axe throwing. Meta Quest gamers can now experience the exhilaration of throwing axes in a virtual environment.
What is Arcade Legends?
Arcade Legends is a unique VR experience that allows players to create their own personal arcade. With a selection of 10 official arcade games and the ability to play with up to three friends, players can earn tickets that can be redeemed for virtual prizes at the in-game store. Additionally, secret areas can be unlocked and players can visit other users’ arcades.
New Features in the 2.0 Update
Since its initial release, ArcadeXR has been dedicated to expanding the game’s offerings. The 2.0 update introduces a brand new neighborhood environment for players to explore, along with the axe throwing activity. ArcadeXR has partnered with BATL Axe Throwing, a leading axe-throwing destination, to bring a realistic axe-throwing experience to Meta Quest headsets.
Experience Realistic Axe-Throwing
The new venue in Arcade Legends offers a variety of axe-throwing game modes inspired by BATL Axe Throwing. Players can try their hand at standard BATL, Classic Target, Tic-Tac-Toe, Bullseye Blitz, and Ultra Batl games. By successfully playing, players can unlock up to 10 unique axe skins from the prize store. Finding the axe-throwing venue is as simple as stepping outside and looking for the prominent axe-throwing sign.
Realistic and Immersive Virtual Experience
As someone who had the opportunity to try out the new axe-throwing activity in Arcade Legends, I can confidently say that BATL Axe Throwing works surprisingly well in VR. While it’s not a perfect substitute for the real thing, the various game modes provided kept me entertained for quite some time. My personal favorite was the intense Bullseye Blitz mode.
I also appreciated the attention to detail in the game. Before each turn, targets were visually burnt onto the wooden boards, adding to the authenticity and overall atmosphere of the experience.
Availability and Future Plans
Arcade Legends 2.0 is currently available for purchase on Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro headsets for $24.99. However, the developers have also announced that a PC VR version of the game is in the works, expanding accessibility to even more players.
