Armored Core 6: How to Use the Weapon Bay Upgrade
Discover the best way to utilize the Weapon Bay upgrade in Armored Core 6 to gain an edge in battles.
Armored Core 6 marks the return of From Software to the mech action genre, offering players thrilling boss fights and deep combat mechanics. In this game, customization options for the player’s personal Armored Core (AC) are abundant. Spending time in the garage to fine-tune and test out your machine is essential for success. One valuable tool at your disposal is the Weapon Bay. However, the game doesn’t provide clear instructions on how to use it effectively. This guide will walk you through the process of switching weapons from shoulders to arms during battles.
How to Unlock the Weapon Bay
The Weapon Bay can be unlocked through OS Tuning. To access it, use the OST Chips you have earned by participating in Arena battles. You’ll need two OST Chips to purchase the Weapon Bay. Ensure you have defeated at least one enemy in the Arena to have enough chips for the purchase. Once bought, the Weapon Bay will automatically equip on your AC.
How to Equip Arm Weapons on Shoulders
After equipping the Weapon Bay, head to the Assembly section in the garage. When browsing the shoulder tabs, you’ll notice two small squares on the shoulder weapons. These squares indicate the availability of arm weapons on the shoulders. Use the R1/L1 or RB/LB buttons to toggle between the arm and shoulder weapons. Keep in mind that left-arm weapons can only be equipped on the left shoulder, and the same goes for right-arm weapons. This method allows you to equip arm weapons on your AC’s shoulders. Take caution with the load capacity and the weight distribution as it may impact your AC’s balance.
How to Switch Weapons
While you can’t utilize the weapons on your shoulders directly, you have the ability to switch between them on the fly. Simply press the desired shoulder button, and the rear arm will swap out the corresponding weapon. On the PS5, use the R1/L1 buttons, while on the Xbox, use the RB/LB buttons. This feature is particularly useful for players who utilize double shotguns or focus on an all-melee build while still needing weapons for other purposes. Don’t be afraid to experiment with various builds to create the perfect mecha machine.
Armored Core 6 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
