DFZ Labs Announces Collaboration with Unity for RIP TCG Mobile/PC Game
DFZ Labs, the company behind the Deadfellaz NFT collection, has partnered with Unity’s inhouse development team to create a mobile/PC TCG game based on its IP. The game, codenamed RIP TCG, aims to deliver fast tactical gameplay, deep character card customization, and immersive 3D combat.
The Blockchain Integration in the Game
In terms of blockchain integration, each card in the game will have dynamic features. This includes updating onchain XP, visual customization, and an achievement unlock system. This integration adds a unique element to the gameplay experience, allowing for a more interactive and personalized experience for players.
Game Development Progress and Timeline
Development of RIP TCG has already begun, and an early alpha version is expected to be released in Q1 2024. Early access will be granted to existing Deadfellaz and Deadfrenz holders as a reward for their support. However, the game’s beta version is not anticipated until 2025.
“Psych [lead artist] and I both believe TCG gaming is in need of a serious upgrade when it comes to gameplay, animation, music, and the overall experience of playing and collecting – and with Unity, we finally have the perfect collaboration to achieve what we envision,” said Betty, the CEO of DFZ Labs.
The collaboration between DFZ Labs and Unity aims to push the boundaries of what culture and gaming can converge into, creating a game that offers a new and enhanced TCG experience.
DFZ Initial Pre-Access Sale of First Edition Cards
While waiting for the release of RIP TCG, DFZ Labs is launching an “initial pre-access sale” of first edition cards. This sale is available to holders of Deadfellaz and Deadfrenz NFTs. They will have the opportunity to purchase vaults, each containing 9 cases of 10 card packs. In total, a vault will include 450 cards, with one card having a random ultra-rare (1%) rarity.
The starting price for existing NFT holders is $13 for the first vault and $75 for each subsequent vault, with a maximum limit of 100 vaults per wallet. Wallets that originally minted Deadfellaz NFTs can purchase the first vault for $50 and subsequent vaults for $90. For everyone else, the price is a flat $100 per vault.
The first edition vaults are limited to a total supply of 30,000, and the sale will be live for 13 days or until sold out. More information can be found on DFZ Labs’ website.
